Privacy Policy
Pin Panic ("we," "us," "our," or "Pin Panic") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our application ("Pin Panic," "Pin Panic Pro," and "Pin Panic+") collects, uses, and safeguards your information.
1. Information We Collect
We collect minimal information and prioritize your privacy:
- No Account Required: Pin Panic does not require you to create an account. You can use the app without providing personal information.
- Local Data: All pin collection data (pins, wishlists, images, notes) is stored locally on your device. We have no access to this data.
- Camera & Photo Library: When you use the camera or photo library to add images to your collection, those images are stored only on your device and never uploaded to our servers.
- eBay Market Value Lookups: When you search for a pin's market value, we send an anonymous query to eBay's public API to retrieve market pricing data. No personal information is included in this request.
2. iCloud Sync (Pin Panic+ Subscribers)
Pin Panic+ subscribers can enable CloudKit sync to backup their collection to their personal iCloud account. This data is encrypted and stored in your private iCloud account. Pin Panic cannot access this data—it is managed entirely by Apple's CloudKit infrastructure.
- Syncing is optional and controlled by you
- Your data remains encrypted end-to-end
- Disabling sync removes your data from iCloud
3. What We Don't Do
- We do not collect personal data (names, email addresses, phone numbers)
- We do not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs
- We do not track your behavior or usage patterns
- We do not sell or share your data with third parties
- We do not store your images or collection data on our servers
4. Auto-Renewable Subscriptions (Pin Panic Pro & Pin Panic+)
Subscription Details:
- Pin Panic Pro: Removes the 100-pin limit and includes all features of the free version
- Pin Panic+: Includes Pin Panic Pro features plus iCloud sync for cloud backup and cross-device synchronization
Pricing & Renewal:
- Pricing is displayed before purchase in the app
- Subscriptions are auto-renewable and will renew at the end of each billing period unless canceled
- You will be charged through your Apple ID account
- Payment is processed by Apple according to its terms
How to Manage Your Subscription:
- Open the Settings app on your iOS device
- Tap your Apple ID at the top
- Tap Subscriptions
- Select Pin Panic
- Tap Cancel Subscription to end your subscription
Alternatively, you can manage subscriptions through the App Store:
- Open the App Store
- Tap the profile icon in the top right
- Tap Subscriptions
- Select Pin Panic
- Tap Cancel Subscription
Cancellation and Access:
- You can cancel anytime. Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period
- When your subscription ends, you retain access to your local collection data
- Downgrading to the free version still allows you to use Pin Panic with a 100-pin limit
- iCloud sync (Pin Panic+) will stop, but your local data remains on your device
Refund Policy:
Refunds for subscription charges are handled through Apple. You can request a refund through your Apple ID account. Apple's standard refund policy allows refunds within a limited timeframe for subscription renewals.
Subscription Data:
- We do not store your subscription information beyond what is necessary to deliver the service
- Your subscription status is verified through Apple's servers, not ours
- We do not have access to your Apple ID or payment information
5. Third-Party Services
eBay API: When you use market value lookups, we query eBay's public API. Your query is sent to eBay, and their privacy policy applies to that interaction. Review eBay's privacy practices at ebay.com/help/policies.
Apple Services: CloudKit (used for iCloud sync in Pin Panic+) is provided by Apple. Your CloudKit data is governed by Apple's privacy policy (apple.com/privacy).
6. Data Retention
- Pin collection data is stored only on your device until you delete it
- iCloud backup data persists in your iCloud account until you disable sync or delete the data
- We do not retain logs of your queries or usage
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: Request information about your data (contact us at tjpanek@icloud.com)
- Delete: Delete your app and all associated local data at any time
- Control: Enable or disable iCloud sync and choose what data to back up
- Cancel: Cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings
8. Children's Privacy
Pin Panic is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided information to us, we will take steps to delete such information and terminate the child's use of the service.
9. Security
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data:
- Data stored on your device is protected by your device's security measures
- iCloud data benefits from Apple's end-to-end encryption
- We do not store sensitive data on our servers
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of Pin Panic following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
